brambles
Brambles is a faerie hailing from a magical realm by the name of Anther. He is part of a race of fairy creatures called Canterwit who are responsible for the growth of flowers on Earth. Each Canterwit grows a specific flower - and in Brambles' case, the flowers that he grows are red daisies (gerberas.) Canterwit are creatures capable of using magic, which allows them to cross over from realm to realm. They also use their magic for defensive and healing purposes, if necessary. Canterwit can transform, which is how they disguise themselves and blend in. In Brambles' case, he greatly enjoys visiting Earth and living among humans during the periods that he visits to grow flowers. As Anther's Scribe, he documents his findings by hand with his feather quill - since Canterwit are endlessly curious about human nature. He is a kindhearted, cheerful and optimistic character with a zest for life and a knack for learning. Despite his excessively whimsical personality, he is very intelligent and loves learning as much as he can about the world around him through life experiences and reading factual books. He knows a lot of things.

While disguised as a human, Brambles is medium to small in size with a slim frame. His hair is mid-length and duo-coloured. His skin is lightly tanned and covered in freckles. His natural eye colour is red but he may disguise them as brown when in the presence of humans. When he isn't cloaking himself with magic to blend in, his features are a lot more fairy-like - his ears are big and pointed and he can shrink himself down into being palm sized. He can also make his red fairy wings appear. X X X X

When Brambles is in his faerie (Canterwit) form, he appears as a small to medium ungulate creature with fairy wings, hooves, a long horse tail and red daisy flowers growing from his body. He has a pair of brown antlers with a wooden texture, covered in red daisies and their leaves. He leaves a trail of flowers behind him when he walks. X X X

In the early days of his life, Brambles lived with his father, who was the owner of a travelling horse-and-cart style book shop. His father was an avid bookworm, which had a huge influence on Brambles' interest in learning and reading. To make a living, combined with charity work, their small family travelled all over Anther with the intention of sharing their love of knowledge with many others who did not have easy access to books. By the time they reached the capital of Aspenfey, they were exhausted and in great need of rest. The King of Anther took notice of their travelling book stall. As it turns out, the King was tremendously passionate about reading with a great interest in many of the book titles they carried, and both he and Brambles' father befriended each other on the spot. The King could see that they were poor and exhausted, and very generously offered them a place of permanent residence here in the capital - with the keys to their new place they opened what would become one of the most successful libraries in all of Anther. The leap from travelling to living in the glistening royal capital of Aspenfey was a lot to take in, but soon after Brambles made his very first friend, a young prince named Brush. To this day, they are inseparable. Like his father before him, Brambles secured a perfect fit into house Alderley, of which he is incredibly devoted to. Nowadays, he spends most of his time working in the library, right up until winter when he and Brush take to Earth to perform their flower growing duty and document all their adventures. This lead to Brambles landing the role of being the realm's Scribe.
